As a first project i can already feel myself starting to develop and learn the skills to becoming a good photographer. Even with this short project i feel more confident as individual interacting with subjects even when they are strangers to me. At first i was really uncomfortable asking people if they wanted their photo taken but by the end of the project found that i really enjoyed interacting with people. I felt that this was a huge personal growth!

One thing that i could improve on is getting used to using the 50mm lens and making sure that i get the focus right. This is only a technique issue but as soon as i get with right, my images will look spot on. I would have also liked to have spent more time getting to know what the people who i photographed thought of the area and maybe have gotten them to write down what they thought, scanned it in and used it as a part of my work.

I think this project could work really well as a continuing series and documenting changes of Hamworthy and Poole but also looking back at its history and verbal history through the older people who lived in Hamworthy and Poole before its regeneration. Strangely, one day at the bus stop after the project ended, a gentleman started talking to me about how Hamworthy used to be full of orchards and telling me about how he remembers the American soldiers who were stationed in Poole. I truly wish that i took his name and number because he was a lovely gentleman who would have been a great addition to my project.

Overall i feel that this project has had a positive impact on my work and for the next i want transfer what the learnt from this project into especially getting used to using the 50mm lens as this will visually improve my work.
