During the first week returning from Easter, i planned to start preparing my two final prints for the show and also working on composing my photobook.
With regards to scanning in my images that i took during the Easter, i found some issues. A huge downfall in my scans was that a number of my portraits were out of focus and that there was nothing i could really do about it.The two images below really show the difference, the one on the left is crisp whereas the right is just that bit out. I struggled to overcome issue because on one hand i needed to include a number of portraits in my photobook to show the people of Hamworthy but i wanted it to be well executed. From speaking to a number of peers about my predicament, they all agreed that it would be better to forget about the out of focus images and move on. My next plan of action was to try and reshoot over the weekday using the Mamiya and get the focus dead on. As being the penultimate week of the course, there is added pressure to get these images correct. I still feel that film was the right path to go down as the images i have created have a certain feel and aesthetic which works well with the topic of my project.
Next week. i plan to (hopefully with my new images) rescan my images and finalise my book edit including the structure, text and other documents.
