Review of Easter/shoot week 9

Over the first week of Easter i focused on blog work and trying to tie up loose ends as i didn't have access to the Mamiya for shooting.

The second week consisted of organising shoots and doing them. As my first shoot, i visited a family friend, Fiona, who has lived in Hamworthy for over twenty-five years and is someone i have known since i was a baby and because of this the shoot was almost effortless. Currently i do not have the film back from this shoot as i was unable to develop the film during Easter but i wholly hope these images come out well as i feel they will give a face to 'Hamworthy'. On top of shoot, Fiona over the years had collected deeds and paperwork to do with Hamworthy and particularly Carters Avenue which is extremely helpfully to my project and i hope to scan them through soon to add to the photobook. Whilst looking through the documents, i found the signature of Herbert Carter who was the Mayor of Hamworthy in 1912 and had the local school and the road i lived on as a child named after him. I have known since i was young the important of the Carters to Hamworthy as my father would often tell me. I think it would be important to include the Carters within my photobook in some way as a part of the history of Hamworthy, possiably scanning in some of the documents given to me by Fiona or as part of an intro to my photobook. Fiona also gave me a number of books about Hamworthy with one being written by an Ann Smeaton, a name that i recognised. When came home i questioned my mother about it and replied that Ann Smeaton had been a teacher at the Victorian Hamworthy First School and had taught my brother. I instantly thought that i had to try and get in touch with Ann due to her knowledge and passion of Hamworthy however i am still waiting for a reply which is unfortunate.
