Tutorial with Matt

I always find tutorials really helpful as they are usually quiet conversational and open up possible ideas. One key point that Matt made about my work is that he thought it would important to enhance the idea of 'nothingness'. This is something that i feel is vital to my work, that photography is merely capturing a moment in time. He also referenced the photographer Stephan Shore whose documentary work 'Uncommon Places' taken in the 70s and 80s has now taken on a new meaning due to passing of time. I feel that this is important to note in my own work as the areas which i am focusing on were made for functionality more than anything and are not works of 'beauty' and therefore are likely to be destroyed in the coming years. This therefore emphasises the importance of my own work and that it will capture a moment in time, something that would otherwise likely be lost in time.
